Eagle Engineering Center
At Westside Christian High School, we are thrilled to offer three dynamic courses in our engineering department: Intro to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, and introducing Computer Integrated Manufacturing for the upcoming 24-25 school year. These courses not only provide a strong foundation in engineering principles but also nurture students' creativity and problem-solving skills, preparing them for a successful future in the ever-evolving field of engineering.
The Eagle Engineering Center, or EEC, offers the opportunity for WCHS students to become immersed in a transformative engineering curriculum that goes beyond textbook learning. Through engaging hands-on projects like designing innovative toys and enhancing existing products, students delve into the engineering design process while incorporating math, science, and industry standards.
Our approach emphasizes systems thinking, material selection, human-centered design, and sustainability, equipping students with a holistic understanding of engineering principles. From exploring mechanisms to tackling challenges like developing self-powered vehicles, our students engage with a wide array of engineering topics to hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
By integrating Computer Aided Design (CAD) with Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, students further enhance their technical proficiency. This comprehensive engineering course not only fosters academic excellence but also aligns with our school's values of character development and making a positive impact on the world.
